Spiritual Procrastination

Procrastination is like an egg, if you wait too long it becomes a rotten egg. Christmas is now history and were another  month into the New Year.

If you haven’t taken down those Christmas decorations and Christmas lights and packed them away its time to start packing. I’ve been told that if you don’t do something 21 days after you committed yourself to it it probably won’t get done.

It’s Time To Get Rid Of The Clutter.

A wife walked into her bathroom at home. As she did, she saw her husband weighing himself on the bathroom scales, sucking in his stomach. She thought to herself, “He thinks that he will weigh less by sucking in his stomach.”  So she said rather sarcastically to her husband, “That’s not going to help.” Her husband said, “Sure it will. It’s the only way I can see the numbers.”

First of all if you don’t think about cleaning up, losing weight whatever, you won’t do it.

Your thinking has brought you to where you are today and your thinking will take you where we are going tomorrow.

Think about what you would like to do in order to improve your life. Make a list. Sit down and think about it. Make a plan of action and go for it.

A blonde woman went to an appliance store sale and found a real bargain. She told the salesman, “I would like to buy this TV that’s on sale.” He replied, “Sorry, we don’t sell to blondes.”

She hurried home and dyed her hair, went back to the store and again told the salesman, “I would like to buy this TV that’s on sale.” He replied, “Sorry, maam, but we don’t sell to blondes.”

She thought, “How in the world did he know that I was a blonde?” She went back home and disguised herself completely. This time she wore a brown curly wig, big baggy clothes, and big sunglasses. She waited a day and then went back to that store. She said to the salesman, “I would like to buy this TV that’s on sale.”

He replied, “I’m sorry, but we don’t sell to blondes.” In utter frustration, she exclaimed, “How do you know that I’m a blonde?” He said, “Because This Is A Microwave, Not A TV!”

I am not against blondes my daughter is one, but spiritual procrastination can sneak up behind you and shock you like someone who has just been checkmated

A microwave is not a TV

The Apostle Paul said in Romans 13:12The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”
Colossians 3:5 Put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”

In other words, clean up your spiritual life.

The Apostle John Said In I John 1:9,  “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
To stay forgiven you must seek forgiveness daily.

Bad habits can trouble you for years and years. Overcoming them is like trying to wrestle a gorilla to the ground. Like the leopard you cannot change your spots.  You fall again and again! What can you do?
You pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again and again and again.

God never tires of us coming to Him in repentance. So keep on prayer line open, keep on fighting and eventually you overcome. Victory comes gradually, Victory comes in small steps!

Psalm 103:14, For He Knows Our Frame; He Remembers That We Are Dust.”

Going To Church Once A Month,

On the first day of the week let each one of you …” ~ I Corinthians 16:2

Praying Only In A Time Of Crisis,

“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.” ~ Colossians 4:2

Feeding On The Word Of God Like A Sparrow

“All Scripture Is Given By Inspiration Of God, And Is Profitable For Doctrine, For Reproof, For Correction, For Instruction In Righteousness…” ~ 2 Timothy 3:16

All this is as inconsequential as giving a peanut to an elephant.

You cannot survive on it.

Don’t do tomorrow what you can do today

Fellowshipping and Praying and Meditating build you up, keep you filled with the Holy Spirit. They break you, melt you, and mold you. They will help make 2006 A Happy New Year!

 Be Blessed,
