Like a Whirlpool It Never Ends.

Chances are that you are sitting in a chair right now, and it seems like you are stationary. But in fact you are moving through the universe at a tremendous speed at this very moment. Let’s take a look at where you’re going. You are travelling at this moment in four different directions.

The earth is rotating east to west at 1000 mph, the earth is travelling around the sun at 67,000 miles per hour, our solar system itself is travelling at something like 420,000, mph and our Milky Way galaxy is moving through the universe at a speed of   2,237,000 mph. In other words, you are hurling through space at 2.7 million mph even though it feels like you are sitting still.

Maybe that explains why you’re so Dizzzyyyy!!!

Filmmakers really enjoy exploring the theme of the universe. Many movies have tried to show interstellar battles, wars between different galaxies, and Earth defending itself against alien invasions. That’s science fiction.

Science is different. Science is doing its very best to reach out into the universe. That can be done through a man landing on the moon or by all manner of telescopes.

But the greater question is this: God? What is our distance from Him?

Since God is a Spirit, there is no telescope that will ever allow us to see Him, and there is no microscope capable of identifying His fingerprints or blood type. And if that is not bad enough, there is the fact that sin has separated us from our Creator. Indeed, the universe itself has been corrupted by sin.

This leads us to ask, how do we get close to God? Is it possible to bridge the gulf which has been made between us?

Thankfully, the Bible supplies an answer when it says, “And through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, and making peace by the blood of His cross.”

Without a spiritual guide we have as much spiritual direction in our lives   as a balloon; we are as lost as a lamb looking for its mother. But the good news of the gospel is that we have a good shepherd who Made a way and   who says I Am the way. When you’re lost all you need is someone who knows the way home and all you have to do is follow them. Jesus is our way-maker; Follow Him! The Way of the Cross Leads Home!

He’s Only a Prayer Away.
