Too Far Above Me To Love Me.
In Islam you cannot say as Jesus said in John 15:15, “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”
Here is the great stone that hits the clay feet of Islam and brings it crashing down like the hollow statue of Daniel 2:45. Allah loves but only conditionally. Allah loves but only the righteous, only those who obey him, only those who first love him. he never feels your pain or cares enough to enter into your suffering with you. This is totally unbalanced because parents who only love their children conditionally nor feel their pain are not good parents. The Quran certainly makes it clear that Allah does not love non-Muslims, un-believers.
Surah 3:110 tells us how Allah refers to those who submit to him, “Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.”
To further discredit unbelievers Allah reminds us, “Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures. (Surah 98: 6).
How different is Allah compared to Christ who cares for us and has entered into our sufferings. Romans 5:8 says, “But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Amplified Version). Revelation 21:4, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes…” Allah is not a God who will reach down to Rahab in her adultery, hug the repentant Prodigal son when he returns home from the pig pen. He is not a father who will lift up a broken child in his arms and carry him/ her. He is not a shepherd who gives his life for the sheep. He is not like Jehovah of the Bible, who “So loved the world that he gave us his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have every lasting life.”
While the Quran does say that “Allah is merciful” he is merciful only to those who earn it. Of the ninety-nine names of Allah, he is not referred to as a loving heavenly father who loves those who do not love him (Surah 3:32), He does not love those who are law breakers (Surah 2:190; 2:57, 140, 5:87, 7:55), He does not love those who live evil lives. (Surah 5:64) He does not love those who talk with a filthy mouth (Surah 4:148) Allah’s love is always and totally conditional, selective, partial but not universal. It is based on merit not on grace. (Other references: 2:190; 2: 276; 3: 32, 57; 4;36; 98:6).
How different from the love of Jesus Christ who stooped down to our level and was born of a virgin, born in a barn; laid in a manger of straw, raised in a humble carpenters home, lived in a camel town called Nazareth and died in humiliation and shame on a cross for the worst us sinners. In the New Testament (John chapter 13 : 1-17) we see Jesus washing the disciples feet. Mohammed would have none of this. Islam is not a religion of love for the unlovely. In Surah 5:51 Islamists are told not to make friendships with Jews and Christians but to ostracize therm., “O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya’ (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya’ to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya’, then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust.” (cf. 9:29, 73, 123.)
One of the major faults in Islam as in many other salvation by works religions is that their god shows mercy but not justice. Justice cannot be denied. In Christianity Christ has paid both the price for our sins and satisfied the justice of God. Our justice / wrath fell on Christ when he died as our substitutionary atonement. This sadly, Islam emphatically denies. (Surah 17:15). To reject Christ’s payment for our sins is to pay the price ourselves and that price is eternal separation from God. Either way justice gets paid.
How different from the God of the Bible where God’s infallible, indelible promise to those who believe in Him is, “I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people” (Leviticus 26: 11-12).
Do not blindly submit to Islam. Do not be afraid to question your Imams as Surah 4:65 forbids you to do. Check the facts out for yourself. Do not be blind follower. I would not for a moment want to live in Allah’s Brave New World. In his world you will never personally embrace God, touch him, feel his presence, as he will always be too far above you to come down to your level. The untouchable, unreachable distance between man and Allah could never be a paradise. Ask the living resurrected Christ to come into your heart and wash your sins away through his shed blood on the cross and to reveal himself to you. He is only a prayer away.
