Some people think that if they could hear the devil preach even once it would be the fieriest sermon they would ever hear. The fact is, the devil is the dullest deadest most lifeless preacher you would ever hear.
When we hear him preaching in Eden his sermon is a lie that brings death. He took the word that God gave to Adam and Eve and weaved it into an Orwellian nightmare.
As most lies are for selfish purposes, so all of Satan’s sermons would be only to further his own selfish purposes. This is the reason why Jesus called him, ‘the father of lies.’ He couldn’t tell the truth if his tongue was notarized with a branding iron as Doctor Truth. His real title is Dr Death. His words are as deadly as the venom of a Gila lizard. You would have to take a moral bath after every sermon he preached. He would lie you into hell but he could never lie you out of it. He’s a one way ticket. He is such a proverbial liar that he could pass a polygraph test with a smile on his face.
His message would be one of socialism which is the lie that all men naturally love one another and we can make a perfect Camelot if we could just weave together the right economical social formula which the World Counsel of Social Engineers work so hard at at the roundtable of Xanadu.
Just like the false prophets of the Old Testament he would preach, “Peace Peace, when there is no peace.” He would make a big deal about feast days and symbolism and sacrifice and family and especially that man is the measure of all things. Like the false prophets of the New Testament he would preach a gospel of therapy and not a gospel of repentance and forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. His Gospel is not that “Jesus Saves,” but that man saves himself. There’s that therapy gospel again!
The Apostle Paul nailed it to the mast when he said of the false preachers of his day, that they preach, “… another Jesus … a different spirit…… a different gospel …” (I Corinthians 11:40. )
Like a placebo, a socialist, psychological, bloodless gospel proves that even a lie can give you temporary relief. The Devil is desperately trying to carpet bomb the world with his libertarian, legalistic, touchy-feely gilded edged lies. But, “We are not ignorant of his devices.” You just can’t shut the devil up. He reminds you of Margaret Mead lying in Samoa or more to the point, of George Orwell’s novel, “1984” where the Ministry of Truth’s main purpose is to spread lies.
The devil is as painfully boring as a three hour recital on a one string harp. Many think that his ways are so exciting and irresistible; but he is a huckster of half truths which are half lies which leave you as deceived as Chamberlain was by Hitler’s promise of ‘peace in our time.”
Jesus was never boring. When he preached, demons were cast out, people shouted for joy, because they found peace through repentance. Like the Apostle Paul who followed in his footsteps, wherever he went there was either a revival or a riot, but he was never boring.
Liberal preaching is boring because in it there is no power greater than one can find deep within themselves. Its purpose is to make you feel good about being bad. But it’s shadow over substance, its stones instead of bread, a band aid over a cancer. It’s all recycled slogans you can hear at any secular workshop. Who wants to get up early Sunday morning to hear more of the same old same old ?

Eating his Christmas pie,
He put in his thumb and pulled out a plum

Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
The devil is a dull preacher because his broad road leads to eternal death.
Jesus is as exciting preacher because His narrow road leads to eternal life.
“Choose you this day whom you will serve…!”
