As Israel Goes So Goes The World

Part 2 of 5
To reiterate, there have been many wars of regression against Israel since its founding in May of 1948. The animosity has not regressed, whether it’s in 1967, under the leadership of Egypt at the time with Nasser, whether it’s 1973, with Anwar Sadat, usually joined at the hip with Syria. Th ring of fire surrounding Israel still blazes white hot.

The big bully on the block is Iran. Its strength is enormous and any rumble with it will be to the mat. I cannot help but think of it as the possible beginning of the great conflict prophesied in Ezekiel chapters 38-39. Its mind boggling to think what the present conflagration could flare into within 24 hours. We know that Iran is using the Palestinians Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon as proxies to set the whole middle East on fire. This would involve Israel in a prolonged war it could not endure. Time, money, public opinion, weaponry and man power are not on their side.

Such a holocaust fits into fanatical Muslim eschatology-theology. Such an inferno they believe would prepare the way for the coming of the Mahdi the 12th Imam. He they believe upon his coming will defeat all non-Muslims in a series of wars, and afterwards set up his Caliphate with all the ayatollahs under him ruling over the whole world.

This explains why pure Islamists do not want a two-state solution to the problem in Israel. They want one state, all the land for themselves. They want Israel exterminated forever. So looking through your telescopic, eschatological binoculars you can see the big picture more clearly. Like poking a mad dog with a stick makes it fight all the harder, so the Imams want to hurry up the coming of the Mahdi by setting the total Middle East on fire.

Note: This is not to say that all Palestinians think this way, nor do all Iranians, but a majority do and their leadership certainly does.

Listen clearly to these wicked words right out of the holy Koran that have been screaming out against every Jew for 1600rd years, Surah 9:5 which is known as “the verse of the sword.” “Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful” (Pickthall Translation, cf. Surah 2:191-192; 9:5).

Is this vitriolic, hateful speech an exception to the rule? Not even close. There are one-hundred verse like that against the Jews. To push the madness even further. This jihad once started would not stop with the Jews. Such vitriol helps us to understand the fury behind the present war in Gaza with Hamas and the possible coming of the Gog and Magog war. This is why we must stay in the scriptures for they alone give us a clear road map of what lies ahead. Politicians without the Bible in-hand have it all wrong. It comes as no surprise to us as Bible believing Evangelicals that one day every nation in the world, every western nation, Christian in culture and not in practice in Israel’s darkest hour will abandon her like an orphan child.

Not to be dogmatic and to weigh my thoughts carefully this present war in Israel could morph into the major conflict outlined by the prophet Ezekiel in Chapters 38-39 which many call the War of Gog and Magag. No one that I am aware of saw the October 7th ambush coming any more than we saw the 9-11 ambush coming. We do not have to get everything right every time. The main point is that God Himself will intervene in history when he sees fit. We must always remember, “The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein” ( Psalm 24:1).

We rest in the fact that God is the protector and defender of Israel, and ultimately that is all we really need to know.

Respectfully,

Dr. Robert Bryant
